Deerfield is located at (37.839003, -94.506819)[3], along the Marmaton River.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.1 square miles (0.26 km2), all of it land.
As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 75 people, 33 households, and 19 families residing in the village. The population density was 727.6 people per square mile (289.6/km²). There were 38 housing units at an average density of 368.7 per square mile (146.7/km²). All residents were White. 1.33% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.
There were 33 households out of which 27.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.5% were married couples living together, 9.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 42.4% were non-families. 39.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 30.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.27 and the average family size was 3.11.
